#EdoActNow Townhall Meeting, Community Organizing: The Role of Citizens in Environmental Conflict, Mitigation and Prevention

EDO ACT NOW! Developing Early Warning Systems for Community Stakeholders and Media in the State is a one-day community focused workshop in commemoration of the National Day of Mourning in the State.

Edo Act Now is in line with Global Rights’ mandate to educate stakeholders in media and local communities (especially those that are highly affected by continued conflicts) and to foster effective collaboration with security agencies in Conflict Early Warning Signs. The workshop aims to:

i. build the capacity of key media and community stakeholders in Edo state on how to identify early warning signs and take required safety action to prevent the attacks and/or reduce casualty;

ii. strengthen the synergy between citizens, security agencies, media, and the human rights commission.
We humbly invite you to attend this workshop as a Special Guest. Other participants will include representatives of communities currently experiencing conflict, members of the media, CSOs and security agencies.
